VirtualTaboo Debuts VR porn in 7K quality
As we know, the Adult Industry is one of the major contributors to the development of virtual reality and they are constantly breaking new ground. As VRBangers did in the beginning of 2019 with the introduction of 6k VRPorn, now VirtualTaboo tries to bring us to the next level which would be 7K.
From the press release:
LIMASSOL, Cyprus — VirtualTaboo.com has become the first virtual reality porn site to bring the 7K quality format.
Founded in 2015, VirtualTaboo.com – one of the first high-end VR sites, combining the industry’s hottest themes with the industry’s hottest performers — will be using 7K for all new content production starting April 3.
“We’ve always been at the forefront of tech,” says Capo Rockett, President of Virtual Taboo. “At a time when more people are looking for realistic, immersive experiences from home, we are upping our game and transporting them off the couch. 7K promises to make all the existing content in the market look like the standard of ten years ago”
The new 7K format broadcasts in 7260*3630, and shoots without interpolation in real 60fps footage. The 10-bit footage displays up to 1.07 billion colors, versus older 8-bit footage with just 16.7 million colors.
The 7K images perception is the closest format ever to the human vision, and with the expansion to 200-degree videos, making user perception more immerse and intense.
As is often the case, adult is leading the way in technology, and Virtual Taboo’s 7K videos are to push the envelope. Existing VR headsets available on the market have difficulty sustaining this ground-breaking technology, but consumer demand, led by porn, will force change. But even for those without a 7K-enabled headset, the quality will be higher across the board. All of Virtual Taboo’s new videos will now be shot in the 7K format originally and re-encoded to work for existing headsets.
“As the first to bring 7K into the market, we see this as a great opportunity and stimulus for the VR manufacturers to enhance their products and help them evolve,” comments Rockett. “7K will quickly become the new normal and industry shooting level, making VR porn even more real — perhaps more seemingly real than our own lives at this challenging time.”

But what does this mean?
Well, the first difference would be an increase in image quality, even if you cant afford to run the videos in 7K on your headset. The reason for that is down-sampling, which gives you better image quality when reducing image size from a higher source to a smaller one. But actually the difference I am more happy about is 200 degrees videos, which gives me more room to look around.
One cave-eat would be the FPS which is only 60fps for the moment, and I know many VRPorn enthusiasts love that 90fps or more in their videos for the silky smooth scenes…
I totally expect for the to implement higher FPS for the videos in the future, as hardware develops even more.
But how does the scenes look for me? Honestly, my computer rig barely runs 6K right now, will let you know when I can get a 2080Ti…
